Public relations professionals must face the fact. They need the media to get their message out to their clients and target customers. To do this effectively, it’s essential to build a mutual respect, says Sawsan Ghanem, MD of Active Public Relations:

“Media provide a community service. They inform and update us and do this with a passion for their profession. Some people either don’t get this or decide to ignore this simple set of facts and seem to approach media in a manner and style that immediately irritates, or puts a journalist on the defensive.”
